APRACA Secretary General visited Japan to promote mutual cooperation 
APRACA Secretary General, Mr. Won-Sik Noh, visited Japan from 17-19 April 2013 for the meetings with Agricultural Finance Institutions in the country including JFC, the APRACA member. The meeting with Mr. Wataru Miyasaka, Senior Managing Director and Mr. Yasushi Yamazaki, Executive Director of the Japan Finance Corporation (JFC) strengthened APRACA’s existing partnership with the organization.

APRACA conducted Regional Symposium on Marketing and Supply of Organic Supply Chain in collaboration with FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAO RAP), Agricultural and Food Marketing Association for Asia and the Pacific (AFMA), International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), and the local host organization, National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF) at NACF Head Office in Seoul, Korea on September 23 – 26, 2012. A total of 57 participants attended the Symposium from 16 countries and 4 international organizations.

The bill for the revision of the Agricultural Cooperative Law, a special law, on which the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NACF) was established, was finally passed at the Korea’s National Assembly on March 11, 2011.

Striving for Sufficiency
Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) was established in 1966 under the BAAC Act issued in the same year. Its primary objective is to provide financial assistance to farmers, farmer associations, and agricultural cooperatives for agricultural occupations in order to increase incomes and improve quality of life of farmers.
