FinPower Forum Held in Tashkent 

 

Tashkent, Uzbekistan - The IFAD-APRACA FinPower Programme, in collaboration with the Open Joint-stock “Agrobank” Uzbekistan  held in Tashkent on November 16 a national forum on creating conducive microfinance policies and regulatory framework for some 150 delegates from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, AgroBank Uzbekistan, commercial banks, other banks, credit unions as well as government agencies and development partners. APRACA Consultant Sudhir Kumar Roy of NABARD presented a microfinance policy paper depicting the experiences and policies of India. Mr. Roy earlier provided technical support to selected key rural finance stakeholders.  APRACA Consultant Atthasit Surakul  from BAAC likewise presented the BAAC experience in linking farmers to a strong and vibrant marketing programme. The forum was co-chaired by Central Bank Deputy Chairman Khaydarov and Chairman of AgroBank Uzbekistan Abdurakhmat Boymuratov.
