Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel is the 18th governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. He previously served as a Professor of Kathmandu University, Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission (NPC) and Senior Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Nepal. Additionally, he had also served as the Chairperson of the board of governors of ICIMOD, President of Colombo Plan council and the Chair of Regional Economic Cooperation and Integration (RECI) in Asia and the Pacific. He had also worked with the private sector and served as the Chief Economic Advisor of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI). He was a member of the Board of Directors of Sanima Bank and Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower Company. Dr. Poudel received his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 2010.
