Mr. Atul Kumar Goel joined IBA as Chief Executive on 11 th March, 2025. Prior to this, he was MD &CEO of Punjab National Bank (Government owned Bank) from the year 2022. Before moving to Punjab National Bank, Mr. Goel was the MD & CEO of UCO Bank (another Government owned Bank). He also held the position of Chairman, IBA from 14.10.2021 to 21.03.2024.

He is a seasoned banker with three decades of Professional Banking Experience in four different Government Owned Banks in India. As a qualified Chartered Accountant, he has vast experience, exposure & expertise in all major areas of banking including Large Corporate, Treasury Management, Risk Management; Financial Planning & Investor Relations apart from Support Service, Business Process Transformation, Compliance etc.

Mr. Goel was instrumental in turning around UCO bank into a profitable bank during his stint as MD & CEO of the bank.

Besides his banking exposure, he held positions as Director on the Board of the New India Assurance Co. Ltd. He was also a member of the Governing Council of Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. Besides this, Mr. Goel chaired Standing Committee on Accounting Standards & Taxation and Standing Committee on Retail Banking of Indian Banks’ Association (IBA).
