The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA), organized an inception workshop of the Inclusive Climate Finance for Vulnerable Communities in Asia-Pacific (ICCAP) project on 24 September 2025 in Suva, Fiji. The workshop introduced ICCAP’s objectives and activities, with a particular focus on Work Package 1 – Policy Analysis, Cooperation, and Engagement, led by APRACA.

Participants included senior government officials from different ministries, the central bank, representatives of financial service providers, development partners, and civil society organisations. Panel discussion of the workshop focused on identifying Fiji’s climate finance policy gaps, barriers, and opportunities, as well as strategies to enhance climate finance flows to vulnerable communities. The event concluded with a strong call for collaboration to ensure that climate finance project supports Fiji’s adaptation priorities and build resilience for its people.
