Mr. Bam Bahadur Mishra, Deputy  Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank

Deputy Governor Mr. Bam Bahadur Mishra was appointed as the Deputy  Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB; the Central Bank of Nepal), in March 9,  2021. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor, Mr. Mishra was the  Executive Director of NRB’s Foreign Exchange Management Department. He  was also concurrently the Director of Grameen Bikas Lagubitta

Deputy Governor Mr. Bam Bahadur Mishra was appointed as the Deputy  Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB; the Central Bank of Nepal), in March 9,  2021. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor, Mr. Mishra was the  Executive Director of NRB’s Foreign Exchange Management Department. He  was also concurrently the Director of Grameen Bikas Lagubitta Bittiya Sanstha (Rural Development Microfinance Financial Institution) of Nepal. 

During his career as a central banker spanning less than two decades, Deputy Governor Mr. Mishra gained significant experiences in different functions of central banking, such as in regulation of banks  and financial institution and their supervision, foreign exchange management, and central bank’s  provincial office operations. Deputy Governor Mr. Mishra before beginning his career in central bank  served in private sector commercial banks and was also the faculty in different educational institutions. 

He was also the first Vice-President of Management Association of Nepal.  

Deputy Governor Mr. Mishra has completed MBA from Tribhuvan University and holds Masters degree  in Public Policy from National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Japan. He also holds Bachelor in Laws  (LLB) degree from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.
